It's not Christmas, but it was definitely time to trim some trees on Port Medway Road. Fire Chief Kendall Farmer said that the trees overhanging the road had damaged the paint on the fire department vehicles as they scratched sides and tops. The limbs also presented a hazard for pedestrians walking on Port Medway road, not allowing them to move out of the way of oncoming traffic.
As a result, both firefighters and community members joined in to help take away all the branches today after the limbs were trimmed. Hours of hard work resulted in a much more open roadway both visually and physically. Good job everyone!
